A sneak peek at Walkera F210 racing drone quadcopter at CES 2016 and some flight test footages. Walkera had spent a significant amount of time with the Racing Leagues (MultiGP and others) to better understand what is required in a race. There are two more changes to it, a 5v open port for racing transponder and the OSD Artificial Horizon to be adjusted. So if you plan to race and don't want to have to cut any wires, wait for the change. It is schedule to be released in the full scale production.
Gathering feedback from the racing leagues also provided us with some future upgrade ideas. Our plans to add 40 channels to include the raceband channels are on the drafting table.
Size: 210 mm Video Transmitter: 5.8 GHz Antenna: Left Video Transmitter Power: 200 mW (to meet Race regulations) Battery: 4S or 3S (recommended 4S) XT 60 Prop Size: 5030 or smaller (prop nut or self-tightening)
Motors: 2500 KV Flight Controller: likely F3 Weight without battery: 395 grams.
The F210 is capable of carrying a Mobius/RunCam for HD Camera Races.
Some other plans, BNF version, the OSD Internal voltage to be removed and the timer to be moved down, to add Raceband channels.
White Paper: Following the success of the H500, the X4 was released
to meet the next generation of UAV multirotors. This is the improved all-in-one FPV
ready quadcopter with retractable landing gears. With a 6S 5400 mAh LiPo battery and designed with strong light weight materials,
this quad promised a 20 minutes flight time with gimbal, telemetry, bluetooth and camera pay load.
One of the underlying strength of the Scout X4
is the underlying engine, that uses a variation of the
Linux's Dronecode APM Copter (arducopter). Walkera iUAS is among the progressive group
of founding members that leverages the open source software and collaborative
development effort to advance Walkera USA (ucDrone.com), as announced in
Germany Oct, 12, 2014.
Scout X4 Features:
• Waypoint Mission Planning
• 2 Pilots at the same time: one flying and one camera man
• Follow Me Mode / Record Track Back To Home
• Real time Telemetry
• iPad holder with backup power
• Transformation: Changeable 4 motors or 8 motors.
• Flight Time up to 20 minutes. 6S - 5400 mAh
• Quick and easy assembly
• 3-Axis roll & pitch with yaw stabilizer
• Package with a professional 12 channel radio Devo F12E
coPilot:
One of the undocumented key features of a Devo F12E transmitter that comes with the Scout X4, is the CoPilot Mode, 2 operators
on an aircraft. Very often you may find it difficult to fly and film
at the same time, the Devo F12E allows you to turn any programmable Devo or
compatible transmitter into a second transmitter for a CoPilot to share
responsibilities. In other words, one person can be flying and the other person
can be the camera man. Typically on a Search and Rescue mission, a SAR team will
also consist of the pilot, sensor operator and the spotter.
The Scout X4 also includes the Ground Control Station (GCS). The GCS is a Bluetooth integration into autonomous flying. It allows a user to set waypoints, flight commands uisng a personal tablet.Currently available on Android devices with Apple IOS planned for 2015.
